Couples move away from Traditional Weddings

A look at survey samples over three (3) years shows that more couples are moving away from traditional weddings to anything other than. In just three (3) short years, desire for traditional weddings has declined over 30%. Even with this decline, many couples still want some element of traditional and formal in their wedding. In previous years we asked which “word” best describes your wedding, this year we are asking them to select multiple “words” that describe their wedding. We have also expanded the list to include some other words. When given the choice to select multiple “words” that describe their wedding, Romantic and Simple are currently topping the list in this years samples.
The table below shows the percent of couples that choose a type of wedding based on “Which word best describes your wedding.” The types tracked where; Casual, Destination, Extravagant, Formal, Green or eco friendly, Other, Theme, Traditional, and Unique.
