When I was younger, I kept asking my mother why people always need to get their photos taken during birthdays, Christmas, and other special days. My mom keeps saying “well, because it’s a special day!”
Now that I am older and I myself an aspiring photographer, I have learned the answer to my question. People want to freeze a happy time on an immemorial keepsake such as a picture. A picture lets us travel back in time so that we can reminisce the most important times in our life.
