Some Information About Wedding Photography
August 23, 2008 – 1:16 amDid you know that wedding photography in the United States became popular only in the 1860s? Wedding photography as an art form was created in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce and the idea of taking live action shots that capture the event itself was born only after World War II. In the past wedding photographers show up at the wedding, take some shots and later on venture to sell these photos to the family. The same tactic used during graduations and other occasions. This forced studios to offer wedding photography as more and more freelancers are taking clients away from them.
Wedding photographers need to be adept with photojournalism since they will need to take live action. They will need to capture the ambience of the event without compromising the quality of the prints so they will need to be good at taking candid shots and posed shots. Wedding photographers should also be knowledgeable with making slides, prints and slideshows which can be shown at the reception. A wedding photographer should also know how to create traditional albums.
Wedding photography comes in three types – the photojournalistic technique, the traditional posed method and what most people call as fashion-based wedding photography.
