The uniting of two families
July 17, 2008 – 1:12 amSome people will ask, why is the reception important? Well for one, the wedding is a symbolism for the uniting of two families and the start of a new generation. The wedding is very formal and with the ceremony underway, it doesn’t really allow these two families to interact with each other. Which is precisely what the reception is for – it allows the families of the bride and groom to get to know each other in a cozy and fun atmosphere.
Knowing that also answers the question: why do you need wedding music and band at the reception? Of course music is the best ice breaker, it soothes the mind of a busy person, it intoxicates the hopeless romantic.
Couples choose the wedding music and band that plays during the wedding depending on the mood they want to set. Some bands play only love songs, which is perfect if you want to maintain a romantic ambience. Other couples would like the mood to be livelier so they choose wedding music and band which plays pop.
Other couples also use music to chronicle the different phases that they had to go through before they finally reached the decision to tie the knot. This is actually a very romantic idea and is usually done in small weddings attended by family and friends, but those who are going to have a big wedding can also adapt the idea.
